WELCOME
Enrollment in the Enterprise Seventh-day Adventist School is not limited to children whose parents are members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, but it is selective. Because it is a Christian school with high ideals and objectives, only children of good character are admitted. Since this is a Seventh-day Adventist Church school, all pupils must observe the principles of Christian living taught by the church.
The Enterprise Seventh-day Adventist School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, or disability in the admission of students to its educational programs and activities.
Objectives
“Since God is the source of all true knowledge, it is, as we have seen, the first objective of education is to direct our minds to His own revelation of Himself." Education, p. 16
It is the goal of this school to assist both students and teachers in the process of maturing spiritually, emotionally, intellectually, physically and socially. As an elementary school operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church, we are committed to a balanced educational program, which will prove to be of permanent value from an eternal perspective.
Statement of Philosophy
Seventh-day Adventist education is dedicated to “restore in man the image of his Maker, to bring him back to the perfection in which he was created, to promote the development of body, mind and soul, that the divine purpose of His creation might be realized." Education, p. 15, 16
It is of first importance throughout the total school experience to give each student a awareness of God, His plan for our redemption, and the kind of person they may become as they are restored to His likeness. Because of this, it is our goal . . .

Entrance Requirements
The Enterprise Seventh-day Adventist School welcomes students who desire a Christian education and are willing to support the principles and standards of the school. Students will be admitted upon approval of the school committee.
A child must be six (6) years of age on or before October 15 to enter the first grade. It is highly recommended that parents consider the advantages of waiting until the child is seven years old before starting school.
A transferring student will present his/her latest report card or be required to take a standardized placement test.
Our School is Special
Standards of conduct, as exemplified in the life of Christ are upheld at the Enterprise Seventh-day Adventist School. It should be the purpose of each student to observe the regulations of the school, realizing that these standards and regulations have been established for the successful guidance and education of our young people. Regulations adopted and announced by the faculty or school committee are as binding as those printed in this bulletin.
The following will not be permitted in our school:
¨ Criticizing or undermining the religious ideals of the school.
¨ Being insubordinate or rude to any teacher or supervisor or to any other student.
¨ Being dishonest, including willful deception or cheating in any class work.
¨ Using or having in possession tobacco, narcotics, intoxicating beverages or such drugs as adversely affect human behavior.
Caffeine is included due to the hyperactivity or attention deficit to which it can contribute.
¨ Having in possession or displaying obscene literature or pictures.
¨ Using obscene or profane language or exhibiting lewd conduct.
¨ Possessing or using knives, firecrackers, fireworks of any kind, firearms, matches or cigarette lighters.
¨ Committing acts of vandalism or willfully destroying any school property.
¨ Engaging in improper moral conduct or inappropriate displays of affection.
¨ Illegally entering any part of the school complex.
¨ Using electronic media devices during the school hours.
Specific behavior not listed is left to the judgment of the teachers and school committee. Teachers and parents should work together for the development of character in the children and to this end the teachers will counsel with the parents concerning the conduct of unruly pupils.
Should discipline be required, the following steps will be initiated:
1. Talk with the student if behavior is inappropriate.
2. Allow “time-out” to give the child time to consider behavioral changes. Teacher and student will talk again.
3. A phone call to the parents by the teacher if resolution of the problem seems impossible.
4. The student will be sent home until resolution of the conflict can be found and approval for re-admission is obtained from the school committee.
In an extreme situation the teacher may impose immediate suspension of a pupil until such time as the faculty and school committee have evaluated the situation and found resolution.
GENERAL INFORMATION
ATTENDANCE
Students are expected to be regular and prompt in their daily attendance. Arrival on time to school is very necessary to avoid interrupting the class.
Absences will be excused for the following reasons:
¨ Illness of the student
¨ Death in the immediate family
¨ Medical appointments not attainable during non-school hours
¨ Any extreme emergency
Absences need to be verified verbally or by note from the parent or guardian. Please include the dates of absence and the reason for the absence in the note.
For safety reasons, please call the school before class or the teacher at home, if your child is to be tardy or absent from school.
No student will be permitted to leave the school premises at any time during the regular school hours without a written request or phone call from the parent or guardian.
Students will not be permitted to leave the school premises with anyone other than those known to be the parent or guardian or by those authorized by them.
Bicycles
Students riding bicycles to school should be acquainted with bicycle safety rules. When students arrive at school, bicycles are to be parked in the rack provided and are not to be removed until school is dismissed. Failure to follow these rules forfeits the child’s right to ride to school on his/her bicycle.
Immunizations
Immunizations must be current for all students. All new students must have a medical examination and show proof of immunization before entering school.
Insurance
The premium for full student coverage is included in the entrance fee. Full coverage is provided for accidents while the student is traveling to and from school,* while on any school sponsored activity and while on any field trip. Any accident or result must be reported to the teacher immediately to qualify for coverage. Claim forms are available at the school.
*Students will be covered for up to one hour while traveling to and from school (directly and uninterruptedly). They will be covered for a maximum of fifteen (15) minutes while on school property before school begins, or after school is dismissed. When a child leaves in a car, the driver assumes responsibility.
Music Lessons
Music lessons regularly scheduled during school hours are to be approved by the school committee.
Medication
Teachers or supervisors for the students can provide no medication. This includes pain relievers of any kind, tranquilizers, etc. If a child needs medication, a special written consent and instruction from the parent is required. The parent will always supply any medication. The teacher is trained in basic first aid and will administer it in case of accidents.
Noon Lunches
Parents are responsible for providing their child with an adequate, nutritious lunch. Under normal circumstances, eating will be permitted only during the regular lunch period.
Personal Property
The school will not assume responsibility for personal property left in the school building or anywhere on the school premises.
Playground
¨ Students will not be allowed to use the school building as a backstop.
¨ Hardball, tackle football and skateboarding will not be permitted at any time on school property.
¨ All recreational activities will be in the area of the playground designated for the purpose of that specific activity.
Property Rights & Vandalism
Each student will respect the property rights of the school and of every member of the school. Students and/or parents will be responsible for replacing or repairing anything damaged by the student through deliberate or accidental actions. We realize some accidents are unavoidable. If the student is where he/she is supposed to be, following teacher’s directions when the damage occurs, then the student will not be considered liable. If the student is not in a supervised area and not following instructions, then the damage will be considered vandalism and the student will be liable for the damage.
Telephone
Students may use the telephone with permission of the teacher. This should be
restricted to necessary use only. Cell phones are to be turned off during school hours.
Computer Policy
The school provides computers for student use for educational purposes only, including: keyboarding, publication, class activities, research, and computer skills development. Students are not to use the computers for personal uses including (but not limited to), e-mail, messenger, personal web searches and games. The teacher must first approve any programs loaded onto a computer. Students are not to change the set-up of the computer or use passwords. All material is subject to search. Any inappropriate or objectionable material found on a computer or failure to follow this policy will result in the loss of computer privileges for a time determined by the Principal.
Any form of cyber-bullying involving students from this school will not be tolerated whether it originates from the school's computers or from a student's private computer or other devices. Students involved in this activity will be subject to discipline.
Dress Standard
Students are expected to dress at all times in keeping with an academic atmosphere and Christian grooming standards. Students are asked to consider such factors as; occasion, modesty and health when determining appropriate dress. The type of clothing worn does exert an influence positively or negatively.
The following are not appropriate for classroom wear:
· Clothing with suggestive slogans and items out of harmony with school standards.
· Clothing that is frayed or with holes.
· Tank tops, sweat suits, spandex or other types of athletic wear.
· Jewelry.
· Tight fitting, sheer, low-necked or immodest clothing including crop tops.
· Any make-up or nail polish must be natural in appearance.
It is good to remember that studies show academic success and the type of clothing worn affects self-esteem. Students are encouraged to “Dress for Success.”

We realize there will be many more things you may want to know about our school. You are always welcome in the classroom to see, first hand, what we are doing with our students. We would encourage you to come and discuss our program with us.
FINANCIAL INFORMATION
Our school is operated by donations from members and non-members of the Enterprise Seventh-day Adventist church.
For the current school year, the entrance fee will be $150.00 per child. This fee will cover the cost of workbooks and disposable supplies as well as school insurance, rental on text books, computer software and media material. Your arrangement for payment needs to be made with the school principal.

A teacher will be at the school by 7:45 a.m. on all school days and your child can be dropped off before school during that time. We ask that your child be picked up no later than 15 minutes after their scheduled class dismissal. Classes will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m.
Please note that classes will meet Monday through Thursday except weeks that have a Monday holiday or other special program. We will have Friday school, (8:00- 12:00 for minimum days), on those weeks and they are noted below.
